Human Rights and Democracy Media Center- SHAMS, affirms that, in recognition of Day 200 of the Genocide War against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the horrific destruction is more than this witnessed during World War II. The Center affirms that after 200 days of ongoing crimes against Palestinians, the international community should fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities in protecting civilian Palestinians. The Israeli crimes reached an unbearable level and life in the Gaza Strip became impossible as reflected in several reports released by international legal and humanitarian organizations. More than 34183 Palestinians have been killed since 7/10/2023 while there are more than 77143 wounded persons. 490 members of the medical cadre and specialized paramedics were killed alongside with wounding more than 600 members of the medical relief teams. 312 persons of the medical teams were arrested while 32 hospitals and 53 medical centers were pushed out of service. 136 medical ambulances and vehicles were demolished. The number of patients referred to receive treatment outside the Gaza Strip was only 490 out of 9700 demands provided to be allowed to travel outside the Gaza Strip for urgent treatment. Around 1340000 persons received emergency medical services in the Gaza Strip. There are approximately 9 thousand cancer diseased patients in the Gaza Strip who are facing slow death as a result of the absence of medication for them. More than 1640000 citizens were documented to be suffering from infectious diseases including 38000 patients of viral hepatitis.

SHAMS Center deplores the regional and international silence in front of the terrible crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians. The world consciousness, though cried a lot for victims in other parts of the world but remains in deep silence when it comes to Palestinians. Such a stance, reveals the applied double standard policies, especially within some European countries and the United States. These countries are still supporting the occupation and providing it with all kinds of aid, mainly military supplies, and providing the occupation with political coverage in the United Nations Security Council. This policy uncovered the ugly face of these countries and their dark colonialism history as these countries were built on the ruins of the ingenious people after several wars of ethnic cleansing and genocide, which resulted in occupying the lands of these nations to create the mentioned states.

SHAMS Center asserts that countries worldwide should respect the rulings of the International Cout of Justice and the Resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. All these resolutions and the rulings of ICJ rulings, demand to stop killing and destruction in the Gaza Strip as well as allow the entry of relief aid.  However, the Israeli occupation is still ignoring these resolutions and rulings and is proceeding with its crimes against Palestinians. Therefore, the Security Council Resolutions and the decisions of the ICJ, seem to be valueless and are not worth the ink used to document them. As a result, the international institutions and commissions, above which is the UN Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations as well as the International Court of Justice, became useless and their existence is meaningless. These institutions are utilized for a functional role to serve the interests of some colonial powers but not to serve the objectives on which the United Nations was established.

The Center asserts that the Israeli crimes of killing, destruction of civic objects, and the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, stand as profound violations of international law and international human rights law. The Israeli practices are defined as war crimes, genocide crimes, and crimes against humanity. In this regard, Article 12 of the Geneva IV Convention (12/8/1949), states: “Civilian hospitals organized to give care to the wounded and sick, the infirm and maternity cases, may in no circumstances be the object of attack, but shall at all times be respected and protected by the Parties to the conflict”. Article 24 of the Geneva Convention I/ 1949, states: “Medical personnel exclusively engaged in the search for, or the collection, transport or treatment of the wounded or sick, or in the prevention of disease, staff exclusively engaged in the administration of medical units and establishments, as well as chaplains attached to the armed forces, shall be respected and protected in all circumstances”. The Occupation State violates Laws and Customs of war on land (Hague Convention). Article 56 of the given Convention states: “The property of municipalities, that of institutions dedicated to religion, charity, and education, the arts and sciences, even when State property, shall be treated as private property”.

SHAMS Center demands the international community, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, permanent state members of the United Nations Security Council, Noble parties signatories of the Rome Statute, The Pope of the Vatican, the International Committee of the Red Cross, Amnesty International, and governmental/ nongovernmental organizations, to exert pressure on the occupation state to halt the war crimes and genocide process committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
