Human Rights and Democracy Media Center- SHAMS, calls upon the world countries to interfere and stop the ongoing genocide war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime (December 9), was declared by the United Nations through the general assembly resolution (69/ 323- 29/9/2015). The International Day marks the date the General Assembly endorsed the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, on 9/12/1948. The Anniversary was endorsed, without voting, as all state members declared commitment to apply all the measures to protect its citizens against the crime of genocide or promoting it by any party in the State.

SHAMS Center condemns the genocide crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The genocide crimes are committed based on a pre-determined plan endorsed by the Israeli government. This plan was interpreted clearly by the Israeli War (Defence) Minister, Yoav Gallant as he said: “The Gaza Strip will be without electricity, food, water, or fuel. Everything will be closed”. The minister added that: “We are fighting human animals and we behave accordingly”. The statement of the Minister emphasizes that the Israeli army is going on in the genocide crime, where civilians are targeted using the internationally prohibited lethal. The Israeli war, which started on October 7, has resulted in more than 17487 martyrs where 70% of whom are women and children. The number of injured persons reached 46480 persons. 250 members of the medical teams were killed in addition to destroying about 50 ambulances. 56 health facilities were entirely demolished and 20 hospitals are out of service (according to the reports of the Palestinian Ministry of Health).

SHAMS Center affirms that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are subject to a clear genocide crime. Article 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and Article 6 of The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court- 1998, identify the genocide crime as: “any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group”. Based on that, targeting civilians (medical teams, journalists, women, children, and elderly people) and targeting civic establishments (hospitals, schools, medical centers, churches, mosques, universities, civil defense establishments, and media agencies) stand as clear genocide crimes. The Israeli practices are clear violations of the Geneva Fourth Convention of 1949, which affirms protecting civilians and neutralizing them during armed conflicts. As the Israeli occupation is proceeding with its crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, then the international community should interfere immediately to stop the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip. The intervention of the International community should be either through the UN Security Council to issue a Resolution to obligate Israel to stop the aggression or through opening an investigation by the International Criminal Court against the Israeli leaders and militants involved in the genocide crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

SHAMS Center affirms that the committed crimes of genocide by the Israeli occupation, reveal the level of violence and terrorism rooted deeply in Zionism Political Thought. Such a thought is derived from the Talmud religious ideology that calls upon killing the other and ending his existence. Such ideology perceives others with a patronizing look.  The Talmud Thought calls clearly upon killing the non-Jews based on the notion that non-Jews are satanic souls. Killing the non-Jews is not a crime but an act that makes Jews closer to God. In this sense, the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip are covered with religious ideology and dealt with as one of the best works and a way to worship God and become closer to Him.

SHAMS Center deplores the position of some European Countries that are partners in the aggression against Palestinians. The American position, on the other hand, provides the occupation state with political protection in front of the international community and, at the same time, provides Israel with huge military aid. The American administration is providing Israel with weapons as well as sending military experts to provide consultation to the Israeli army. The American and British military fleets are wandering in the Mediterranean to protect the occupation’s state and interfere in the fight immediately if needed. Additionally, the American and British Governments are providing coverage for the Israeli occupation by banning issuing a resolution from the UN Security Council to stop the aggression. These countries are giving the occupation state the green light to proceed with its crimes against Palestinians and violating International Law and International Human Rights Law. The European countries that support the Israeli occupation are partners in the genocide that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing.

SHAMS Center calls upon the United Nations, the countries that support Palestinians’ right to self-determination,  the high contracting parties to the Geneva Conventions, the Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory (Francesca Albanese), the international governmental and non-governmental human rights organizations, for the necessity of fulfilling their humanitarian, ethical, contractual, legal duties, and the urgent action to compel the Israeli occupation state to end the acts of genocide it commits against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, under what the international charters have stipulated, and in view of the humanitarian, moral, and ethical considerations that guarantee the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, most notably the right to life, in the face of the continued genocide operations before the entire world.
