Ramallah: The staff of Human Rights and Democracy Media Center “SHAMS” received at its headquarters in Ramallah, Ambassador Dr. Luis Arellano Gibaga, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to Palestine, accompanied by Professor Hassan Al-Qatami, the activities coordinator at the embassy, on a visit to the center with the near end of his duties as Ambassador to the Republic of Ecuador in State of Palestine, and confirmation of the continuity of joint cooperation between his successors and “SHAMS” Center.
At the beginning of the meeting, Amal Al-Faqih and her colleagues at the “SHAMS” Center expressed their happiness for the ambassador’s visit to the center, thanking him for his great role in strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, love and cooperation between the two friendly peoples. They also extended a greeting of thanks and gratitude to the Republic of Ecuador for its firm stances in support of Palestine in international and regional forums.
In turn, Dr Gibaga praised the role of the “SHAMS” Center and its efforts in the struggle for human rights, its effective work and the efforts of the center at all levels. He also expressed his solidarity with Dr. Omar Rahal against the threat to which he was subjected to death due to his participation in a TV episode on the Ma’an TV and expressing his opinion of the male culture in Palestinian society, stressing the importance and necessity of respecting freedom of opinion and expression.
At the end of the meeting, the “SHAMS” Center staff honored the Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador Dr. Luis Arellano Gibaga and thanked him for his visit to the center and his constant openness to the Palestinian civil society and its organizations, and his work on developing the relationship between Ecuadorian and Palestinian civil institutions, in addition to the relationship between official institutions, wishing him Continuous success.
