Ramallah: Human Rights and Democracy Media Center “SHAMS” condemned in the strongest and harshest terms the killing of the 18-year-old Palestinian child Amer Abdel-Rahim Snowbar from the village of Yatma in the Nablus governorate by the Israeli occupation soldiers. The child was severely beaten with rifle butts in different parts of his body. This killing occurred near the village of Turmus Aya, east of Ramallah governorate. In a heinous crime, which indicates the level of massive violent practices that the soldiers of the Israeli colonial system have reached, which reflects latent racism in their awareness of underestimating Palestinian blood and expediency repeated violations of international humanitarian law and human rights standards.
“SHAMS” Center said that the crime that rises to the level of field execution outside the law and the judiciary brings to mind hundreds of serious crimes committed by the occupation soldiers during the past years against Palestinian civilians. “SHAMS” Center stresses that the Arab countries rushing to normalize with “Israel,” the occupying authority, at the expense of the legitimate, close and inalienable human rights of the Palestinian people. These countries bear the responsibility for deflecting the rights of the Palestinian people and turning a blind eye to the crimes of colonialism and encouraging the occurrence of severe violations and which has chosen to elevate self-interest and benefit overvalues, principles and human rights.
“SHAMS” Center stressed that the excessive use of force against Palestinian civilians, and the discriminatory violations that accompany it must be immediately stopped. It also calls on the world to provide urgent international protection for Palestinian civilians to protect them from the attacks of the Israeli occupation soldiers and the terror of its settlers. The countries that rushed to normalization without any regard for Palestinian rights with the occupying state must reconsider their steps and realize that they reinforce the feeling of “Israel” of immunity from any obstacles to its crimes.
“SHAMS” Center calls on the international community to hold its responsibilities, calling on it to use all the available tools and activate them to stop the systematic crimes that the occupation system and its tools carry out against the defenseless Palestinian people. Foremost of which is the investigation of occupation war crimes by dispatching special UN investigation committees, and to speed up the procedures of the International Criminal court.
