"SHAMS" center in Palestine becomes a member of Arab - European Center for Human rights and international humanitarian law

In an attempt to translate the Center s objectives seriously and in responsible manner in promoting and disseminating culture of human rights and protection of human dignity, "SHAMS" has been approved as a member of Arab - European Center for Human rights and international humanitarian law after the center has successfully met the affiliation requirements.

The membership notification has been received from the Arab-European center represented by the chairman of the center Mr. AIHAN JAF and Dr. Abdullah Alsalmo the Legal advisor of the Center approving the full membership of SHAMS in the center.

 

In his turn, SHAMS center released a press statement expressing its happiness and gratitude to the Arab - European center for Human rights and international humanitarian law, and hoping that this membership will lead to active cooperation between both centers in the bilateral activities and in the exchange of experiences and capacity building initiatives for the similar activities and in representing each other in the geographical environment.

 

The Center said that there are some shortcomings in the field of human rights attributed to the misunderstanding of some working agencies in the field, acting separately is one of these misunderstanding to the whole context, Human rights are linked to all aspects of life and therefore they require robust cooperation among all partners on policy   and implementation levels.

 

The center also added that the formation of networks between institutions and the creation of frameworks for cooperation and coordination are vital to the promotion of human rights, in particular, and therefore the philosophy and rationale for the establishment of networks for coordination at the level of human rights issues give depth and dimension to work professionally and in order to formulate a comprehensive national plan for human rights like other developed countries who include this dimension in their  national strategies.

 

The center stressed on the importance of networks and membership issues that help develop the capacities and experiences of non-governmental organizations, and networks coordination and membership is can serve as an early warning mechanisms for potential violations.
